The HIGHWAYMEN was a group of African- American artists who produced colourful local Floridian art from the 1950’s to 1980’s. They were a group of 26 artists from Fort Pierce who sold 200,000 paintings using oil-based paints on board (a type of roofing material. ) They were outsider artists who sold out of the trunks of their cars from Daytona Beach to Miami. Awesome!
