Once in awhile, life can get beyond busy. This weekend is one of those times!! With two of us, (husband Partrick Harding and I) engaged in artful pursuits, we have reached the point where we are busy beyond words: Thursday, my co-convenor and I will work with our fellow artists-members of the Port Stanley Artist’s Guild to set up the display stands at the Port Stanley Legion.
Friday morning the artists will eagerly arrive and the art (all 400 pieces of fine art ) will be hung. Friday evening we will welcome our art patrons with an opening reception, complete with delicious refreshments and music. Our mayor of Central Elgin, David Marr, will bring greetings. Please join us.
We will celebrate with our award-winning artists who have won the judge’s choice and honorable mentions as chosen by our judge. And patrons and artists will spend the weekend choosing the members’ and patrons’ choice award-winners. Those winners will be announced at the end of the show on Sunday afternoon. If you are not able to attend, look for the list of winners on www.portstanleynews.com
Friday evening, the cast and crew of husband Pat’s, play will have a rehearsal in Port Burwell at the Periscope Playhouse. This is in preparation for two performances on Saturday, and one on Sunday. The play, “Toast” which he wrote and is directing is hilarious. The first three performances were SOLD OUT!
