Pat’s play ‘TOAST’ at the Periscope Playhouse in Port Burwell, is a very funny commentary: Jason Dark has every reason to end it all. His latest play, Last Moments, has just been rejected. His mother is the Nursing Home Ho, he hasn’t slept in a bed since his father tried to smother him, nor has he been able to make love successfully with his therapist fiance. But a bolt of lightning changes all that! Will love prevail or will they all be toast?
Meanwhile, the Port Stanley Artists’ Guild show and sale wrap up Sunday. Hours are noon to 5:00 pm. This is the 28th annual show and sale for the Guild. As show convenor and Guild president, for the year, I am grateful to the many artist-members who have stepped up and helped both at the show, with the set-up and take-down, and to the convenors and volunteer helpers who have so generously given their time and various skills to make this show an annual highlight! And many thanks to the Last Post Legion Branch for hosting us again this year.
When all is said and done, this will be a weekend to remember…with support from our family and friends who have come out to see Pat’s play, and to the Guild show. Living the artful life is a blessing! It is filled with pleasures, worries, happiness, and fulfillment. Being surrounded by beauty and humour is joy beyond words!
