Saturday will be a full day art show for the Port Stanley Artists’ Guild. Hours are 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Once again, patrons will be presented with fabulous fine art by area artists working in a variety of mediums: stained and fused glass, acrylic, oil, and watercolour paintings, both matted and framed work, photography, collage, mixed media in all sizes and price ranges. There will be an art draw with proceeds going to the work of the Guild.
At the same time, theatre patrons will see two live performances of Pat Harding’s play, “Toast” at the Periscope Playhouse in Port Burwell, both an afternoon matinee and an evening performance. The playwright is from Port Stanley, as are two of the actors. Of the nine actors, four are new to the stage, and five are seasoned actors. Two have been married to each other for 63 years!! One actor is from Belmont, one from Tillsonburg, and several from Port Burwell. The comedy is a wonderful combination of sight gags and zingy dialogue. Very thought-provoking and funny!
As well, Saturday is the opening reception and Spring Social for the Marvellous Miniatures Art Show and Sale at the Fringe Custom Framing and Gallery 1742 Hyde Park Road London. The reception will feature food, drinks, and music. I have 10 miniatures in the show, which runs from June 1-30. For gallery hours call 519-204-0404. Fellow-artist from Port Stanley, Cheryl Garrett-Jenkins, is showing her fused glass miniatures at the Fringe. Hope you will drop by!
